Self-braking descender with anti-panic function for rescue operations

The I'D L self-braking descender is primarily designed for rescue operations. It features an ergonomically designed lever for comfortable control of the descent. The integrated anti-panic function and safety lock reduce the risk of accidents in the event of an operating error. The AUTO-LOCK system allows the user to remain in the desired position without having to operate the lever and tie off the device. Once locked, rope can be pulled in without operating the lever. The safety clip allows the device to remain attached to the harness while inserting the rope. The I'D L descender is suitable for ropes with a diameter of 12.5 to 13 mm and allows the handling of loads up to 280 kg.

  • User-friendly:
    - The movable side part is equipped with a safety clip so that the device can easily remain attached to the belt when inserting the rope.
    - Guide groove and markings simplify the insertion of the rope.
    - The safety lock reduces the risk of an accident due to incorrect installation of the device on the rope.
    - The ergonomically designed lever allows you to release the rope and comfortably control the descent. Two descent modes: on the side panel or in the V-shaped braking groove.
    - The anti-panic function automatically blocks the rope if the user pulls too hard on the handle.
    - Enables smooth movement on horizontal or inclined surfaces.
    - The AUTO-LOCK system allows the user to remain in the desired position without having to operate the lever and tie off the device. As soon as the lever is released, the rope is automatically locked in the device. The automatic return of the lever reduces the risk of snagging.
    - When the rope is removed from the device, the lever automatically goes into the "parking position" to reduce the risk of the descender worn on the harness becoming caught.
  • Versatile applications:
    - Once locked, the rope can be retracted without operating the lever, so it can also be used for pulley systems with a loose pulley or for short ascents on the rope.
    - Operating the cam allows you to pull in the rope or belay while leading.
    - Thanks to the locking screw of the movable side part, the I'D L can be used as part of a rescue kit (e.g. as a backstop in a pulley system).
    - For better control of the descent speed, an additional open or closed braking element can be used depending on the load and the rope diameter.
