Self-braking descender with anti-panic function for rescue operations
The I’D L self-braking descender is primarily designed for rescue operations. It features an ergonomically shaped handle that allows comfortable control of the descent. The integrated anti-panic function and safety gate reduce the risk of accidents in case of operator error. The AUTO-LOCK system allows the user to remain in the desired position without having to operate the handle or tie off the device. Once locked, rope can be taken up without operating the handle. The safety clip allows the device to remain connected to the harness when installing the rope. The I’D L descender is suitable for ropes with a diameter of 12.5 to 13 mm and allows handling of loads up to 280 kg.

Easy to use:
- The mobile side plate is equipped with a safety clip, allowing the device to remain easily connected to the harness when installing the rope.
- Guide groove and markings simplify rope installation.
- The safety gate reduces the risk of an accident due to incorrect installation of the device on the rope.
- The ergonomically shaped handle allows the rope to be released and the descent to be comfortably controlled. Two descent modes: on the side plate or in the V-shaped braking groove.
- The anti-panic function automatically locks the rope if the user pulls too hard on the handle.
- Allows for smooth movement on horizontal or inclined surfaces.
- With the AUTO-LOCK system, the user can remain in the desired position without having to operate the handle or tie off the device: As soon as the handle is released, the rope is automatically locked in the device. The automatic reset of the handle reduces the risk of snagging.
- When the rope is removed from the device, the handle automatically returns to the "park position" to reduce the risk of the descender, worn on the harness, getting caught. -
Versatile applications:
- Once locked, the rope can be taken up without operating the handle, so it can also be used for hauling systems with a loose pulley or for short ascents on the rope.
- Operating the cam allows for rope retrieval or securing on lead.
- Thanks to the locking screw of the mobile side plate, the I’D L can be used as part of a rescue kit (e.g., as a progress capture device in a hauling system).
- For better control of the descent speed, an additional open or closed braking element can be used, depending on the load and rope diameter. - Stainless steel reinforcement that protects the device from rope friction and increases wear resistance.
- Descent of heavy loads up to 280 kg.
- Rope compatibility: 12.5 to 13 mm diameter.
- Available in two colors: red and black.
