The I’D S self-braking descender is primarily designed for work at height and difficult-to-access areas. It features an ergonomically shaped handle that allows for comfortable control of the descent. The integrated anti-panic function and safety gate reduce the risk of accidents due to operator error. The AUTO-LOCK system allows the user to position themselves at the workstation without having to manipulate the handle or tie off the device. Once locked, rope can be taken up without manipulating the handle. The safety clip allows the device to remain attached to the harness when inserting the rope. The I’D S descender is suitable for ropes with a diameter of 10 to 11.5 mm and can handle loads up to 250 kg.

Easy to use:
- The movable side plate is equipped with a safety clip, allowing the device to remain attached to the harness when inserting the rope.
- Guide groove and markings simplify rope insertion.
- The safety gate reduces the risk of accidents due to incorrect installation of the device on the rope.
- The ergonomically shaped handle allows for comfortable release of the rope and control of the descent. Two descent modes: on the side plate or in the V-shaped braking groove.
- The anti-panic function automatically stops the descent if the user pulls the handle too hard.
- Allows for smooth movement on horizontal or inclined surfaces.
- The AUTO-LOCK system allows the user to position themselves at the workstation without having to manipulate the handle or tie off the device: As soon as the handle is released, the rope is automatically blocked in the device. The automatic return of the handle reduces the risk of snagging.
- When the rope is removed from the device, the handle automatically goes into the "parked position" to reduce the risk of the descender snagging when carried on the harness. -
Versatile applications:
- Once blocked, the rope can be taken up without manipulating the handle, making it suitable for use in hauling systems with a loose pulley or for short rope ascents.
- Manipulation of the cam allows for taking up rope or securing a lead climber.
- Thanks to the locking screw of the movable side plate, the I’D S can be used as part of a rescue kit (e.g., as a progress capture device in a hauling system).
- For better control of the descent speed, an additional open or closed friction element can be used, depending on the load and rope diameter. - Stainless steel reinforcement protects the device from rope friction and increases wear resistance.
- Descent of heavy loads up to 250 kg.
- Rope compatibility: 10 to 11.5 mm diameter.
- Available in two colors: yellow and black.
