These very robust gaiters are made from a tear-resistant fabric that includes Cellsolution® yarn, among other materials. The fabric offers high and lasting protection against tick bites.
In the patented structure of Cellsolution-Protection yarn, permethrin is firmly embedded in the fibers. This ensures that its release to the surface is controlled and remains effective in low concentrations throughout the entire lifespan of the gaiter. This differs from conventionally treated fabrics, where a high concentration of active ingredients on the fabric surface rapidly loses its effectiveness through wear and washing. The so-called "knock-down" phase begins as soon as the tick comes into contact with the fabric.
Since the permethrin is firmly contained within the yarn, the fabric has been certified according to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 Class 1. Skin irritation from contact with the fabric is therefore extremely low to non-existent.
